Expert orthopedic care combined with tailored exercises to enhance recovery and mobility. The water treadmill is the room most general practices in the area do not have.
Bethany Animal Hospital · Sycamore, Illinois
Puppy exams, vaccines and senior blood work make up most of a normal week here. The rest of this list is what a lot of general practices in the area send you elsewhere for: a working laboratory, digital imaging, orthopedic surgery, and a rehabilitation room built around a water treadmill. All of it sits under the same roof on Bethany Road, worked by the same team from one visit to the next.
The four named specialties
These are the services Bethany treats as specialties in their own right, each with a page of its own rather than a single line in the list below. The water treadmill room, the orthopedic surgical suite, exotic and avian medicine, and the ultrasound bench each get more space than a one-line entry can hold, because each is a different appointment with a different team behind it.

Expert orthopedic care combined with tailored exercises to enhance recovery and mobility. The water treadmill is the room most general practices in the area do not have.

Specialized orthopedic surgery for bone and joint injuries, with post-operative pain management and rehabilitation under the same roof.

Care that goes beyond traditional practice, tailored to rabbits, rodents, reptiles and birds. Exotic and avian exams are part of the regular service list.

Non-invasive imaging used to diagnose health issues accurately, alongside digital radiographs, EKG, endoscopy and the in-clinic laboratory.
Past the four named specialties, the list breaks into three groups because that is how the practice itself organizes it: primary care, advanced and diagnostic care, and surgery. None of it is filler. Senior blood work, individualized immunizations and a routine toenail trim are not the exciting entries on this page, but they are the actual bulk of what happens in the building on an ordinary day.
The visits that make up most of a pet's life here, from the first puppy exam to senior medicine.
Imaging, laboratory and pain work kept in the building so results come back the same visit.
Routine and specialist procedures, each with post-operative pain management and follow-up care.
Filling a prescription or planning a diet
Nutritional counseling and weight management runs through its own scheduling line, (815) 756-8925, for owners working through a diet or weight plan with a pet, rather than folding that conversation into a regular exam slot. It is a small entry in the primary care list above, and one of the more useful ones if a pet has been gaining weight or is due for a change in food.
The in-house and online pharmacy works the same way. Most prescriptions can be filled in the building before you leave, or ordered afterward through Blue Rabbit Rx, Bethany's online pharmacy partner, so a refill does not always mean a second trip back out to Sycamore.

Getting seen
Call the office on (815) 239-6938 for anything on this list, or text (815) 991-4556 if the question can wait until we are between appointments. If you need a hand getting your pet through the door, call from the parking lot and somebody will come out.
